Dr. Soumyadeep Majumdar has extensive experience in both academic medicine and clinical ophthalmology. Over the years, he has served in multiple government medical institutions where he has been actively involved in patient care, teaching, and clinical training.

He began his professional journey as a Senior Resident in Ophthalmology, gaining valuable clinical exposure at institutions including:

• Malda Medical College
• Diamond Harbour Government Medical College
• Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Medical College Kolkata

These early years provided him with broad experience in managing a wide range of ophthalmic conditions and developing expertise in retinal and ocular inflammatory diseases.

Academic Career

Dr. Majumdar later joined Diamond Harbour Government Medical College as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, where he continued his involvement in teaching, research, and clinical ophthalmology.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology (RIO), Kolkata, one of the leading government institutions for specialized eye care and ophthalmology training in Eastern India.

In this role, he is actively involved in:

• Teaching postgraduate and undergraduate medical students
• Clinical training of resident doctors
• Managing complex ophthalmic cases
• Academic and research activities

Clinical Practice

In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Majumdar is a licensed medical practitioner registered with the West Bengal Medical Council. He provides consultation and specialized ophthalmic care at multiple outpatient clinics and chambers.
