Dr. Soumyadeep Majumdar has built a strong academic foundation in ophthalmology through rigorous medical training and continuous involvement in teaching and research. He completed his MBBS and later pursued MS in Ophthalmology from institutions affiliated with The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, developing a deep interest in retinal diseases, ocular inflammation, and corneal disorders.

Alongside clinical practice, Dr. Majumdar has remained actively engaged in academic activities, contributing to medical education and mentoring students and junior doctors. His work reflects a commitment to evidence-based ophthalmic care and the advancement of knowledge in the field of eye health.

Currently, he serves as Assistant Professor at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology (RIO), Kolkata, where he is involved in both clinical services and academic training of postgraduate medical students.
